Szczeliniec Wielki (919 m)

The highest peak of the Stołowe Mountains.Together with Szczeliniec Mały (896 m) it rises 150 m above the village of Karłów, creating a wide, flat massif with many narrow crevices and deep ravines (up to 18m) with snow lying at their bottoms until summer. The road to the peak initially leads through gentle slopes. Then you walk along a short stony path through the forest and finally climb about 700 steps.

Błędne Skały (Errant Rocks)

Błędne Skały is a labyrinth of crevices and recesses, sometimes very narrow, separating several meter high rock blocks.  Many rocks have their own names, such as “Rock Saddle” and “Hen’s Foot”. Near Błędne Skały there is the “Three Crosses Boulder”. A walk among the rocks is an exciting tour, especially when you have to squeeze through the narrow passages.

Josefov Fortress

The fortress with its labyrinth of underground passages was commissioned by Emperor Joseph II and built in 1780-1787. It was meant to protect the state against attacks from Prussia. With its unique technological solutions, rich history and secrets, the fortress is an exceptionally interesting example of military fortifications.

Dobrosov fortress

Border fortifications of Dobrosov were built before the II World War. They contain almost 2 km of passages linking different parts of the fortification, hidden in the rocky mountain. On the surface you can see only three constructions: the Zelený artillery cabin and Můstek and Jeřáb infantry cabins.

Adrspach - the town of rocks

It is an unusual set of sandstone formations modelled by water, frost and wind due to uneven resistance of rocks to weathering processes. The same processes were at play during the formation of the Stołowe Mountains. There is also a beautiful lake nearby. You can walk there along a route with viewpoints.

Jaskinia Niedzwiedzia

Jaskinia Niedźwiedzia (Bear Cave) is one of the biggest attractions in the Śnieżnik Mountains. It is the longest cave in the Sudetes and one of the biggest in Poland. It was accidentally discovered in 1966, during mining works at a marble quarry.  After extensive geological research, mining and construction works, the cave was opened for tourists in 1983.

Path in the clouds

“Path in the clouds” was built on the slopes of the Slamnik mountain 1116 m above sea level near the upper station of the Sněžník ski lift. It is not a typical lookout tower, but a combination of a viewing platform, walkway and slide. The construction consists of three towers with a winding lookout path reaching the height of 58.5 m. To reach the peak you walk 750 m along the path and 38 m on the platform.

Książ Castle

The castle in Książ is one of the biggest castles in Poland and Europe and the biggest one in Lower Silesia. It is situated on a steep rocky peak, at the height of 395 m above sea level, surrounded by a deep valley covered with forest. It used to be called “the pearl of Silesia” and “fairy-tale castle”. It is situated in Książ Landscape Park. The castle has over 400 rooms and combines many architectural styles.

The Skull Chapel in Czermna

The Skull Chapel is a mass grave of people who died in the 18th century during Silesian Wars (1740–1742, 1744-45) and plagues. The walls and ceiling of the chapel are covered with 3 thousand skulls and human bones. Other 20-30 thousand human remnants are buried under the floor. The Skull Chapel is the only place of this type in Poland and one of three in Europe.
